- The only other project that approaches the dimensions of theNew OED isTresor de la Langue francaise. Ten volumes have already appeared, and when completed, in 1989,Tresor will comprise 16 volumes of 1300 pages each. Based on historical principles, it covers 1785 to 1975. The text is computerized although it was only with the last few volumes that phototypesetting was used. It is possible to generate concordances and to perform statistical analyses of the text. Whether or not there are plans to issue it as an electronic database is not known.
